Some good recipes, but compared to others not the best. Many recipes seemed to be on a whim of what they put for "healthy" such as one having low sodium soy sauce, but not low sodium broth.

Many had sugar that shouldn't be there, but if you're diabetic you should be using little to none or an alternative let alone there shouldn't be a mix of the two due to flavor profiles. The dessert recipes really should limit the sugars, especially when fruit is involved as they have sugar already and should be sweetened IF needed. Many low fat options can be high in other areas, including sugars (hidden sugars) so heavy reliance on those was disconcerting. Let alone are processed and could do more damage (margarine for example) because of what they add in.

Good for some, some other information was helpful that they provided, but definitely read up on more from the ADA as they have some really helpful things and updates.

My mom was suffering from diabetes 2 and Lupus over 17yrs. She tried many drugs but at last become dependent on Siferol and metformin due to the weakness and constant pains, she found that life was just sinking & there was no way of hope. This cookbook is one of my favorites.

If you're trying to watch your weight, or are diabetic (which I am not) this book has some great healthy recipes in it. I have to recommend this cookbook as there are many recipes that my "picky" children enjoyed.

This book is a direct result of my cooking healthy obsession days a couple of years ago... Now I just watch Food Network or Bravo TV and substitute ingredients or not...lol
